The cloth
For a cooler evening that still wants a duster, not a coat, this is a small rose floral on a ivory ground, dark enough to read as cloth first, cut as a covered duster. The quilted cloth stays opaque. High stand collar, buttoned through. Buttons run from the collar downward, so the front meets. A self sash marks the waist over a front that is already closed. The hem meets the floor. You can sit down in it, and the front still meets.
Opaque quilted cloth in ivory. The stitch gives a little structure; the coverage does not thin out. The floral sits in the cloth, not on a thin ground.
