The cloth
For an ordinary afternoon that still wants a finished layer, this is solid rose, unpatterned and fully covered, cut as a covered duster. The brushed knit stays opaque. High stand collar, buttoned through. Buttons run from the collar downward, so the front meets. A narrow piping line finds the collar, the front edge, and the hem, then stops. The hem falls to the ankle and still covers past mid-calf. It is a layer with room, sized the way the rest of the house is sized.
