Buttons run from the collar downward, so the front meets. Smocking at the cuff eases the wrist without opening it. Sleeves reach the wrist and stop there. The hem meets the floor. It is a layer with room, sized the way the rest of the house is sized.
Opaque duchess satin in olive. The sheen is restrained, and the cloth is not a slip and not a lining. The gilt sits in the cloth, not on a thin ground.
