The cloth
For a Shabbos table and the hours after, this is narrow stripes in ink and a deeper shade, cut as a covered duster. The velvet stays opaque. Band collar, snapped to the throat. Snaps close the collar and the front, one after another. A self sash marks the waist over a front that is already closed. The hem falls to the ankle and still covers past mid-calf. It is a layer with room, sized the way the rest of the house is sized.
Opaque velvet in ink, with a low sheen and a dense pile. The stripe sits in the cloth, not on a thin ground.
